Simplified and automated an tedious Excel based workflow with a browser app
Helped a customer to transfer an unpleasant and cumbersome Excel-based workflow to the web and partially automate it. The daily savings in working time quickly add up to hours and days.
The tool makes it possible to enter so-called Sunday polls. The screenshot shows an interface for checking and calculating the results on a daily basis. The backend runs a Composer based PHP REST-Api with MySQL database. The interface is made with Next.js and Tailwind CSS.

The new solution also includes a web scraper running on AWS Lambda and S3 that checks twice a day whether there are new surveys. If a new survey is found, an email is sent. The e-mails contain “deep links” to the web app. This makes it possible to enter new surveys with just a few clicks instead and reducing the amount of time and cognitive resources need drastically.
Client happy.
